TIPS & TRICKS FOR MATH WORD SEARCH

Don't start with the word list. Almost every word search puzzle will have a few obvious words that will jump out at you. There's no point in looking at your list of words until you've circled all the obvious ones and are in desperate need of assistance.

Search for multiple words at once. Once you've found the obvious words, go back over the list and try to remember two or three of them. You'd be surprised how often you'll come across one word while looking for another.

Save the most difficult words for last. If you're having trouble finding a specific word, skip it and look for another. A good strategy is to find as many easy words as quickly as possible, then spend the rest of your time looking for the remaining one or two difficult ones. Once you've identified the easy words on the board, the difficult words will be easier to find.

Look for the search words' final letters. Many people find it easier to look for letter clusters than letters in the order they're written. When doing your word search puzzle, look for letter clusters in the last three or four letters of the word rather than the first couple. That way, you're less likely to waste time chasing down false leads.

Declare the word aloud. Saying the word they're looking for aloud helps stimulate the part of their brain that's thinking about the puzzle and looking for words. But make sure you're not in a situation where you could embarrass yourself!
